Jinn: The word Jinn comes from the root word Jana which means to conceal or hide something. It could also mean that which is covered or hidden.
- Ins: Ins is the opposite of Jinn
- Aanasa Shay’a means he saw it
- In surah Qasas, Musa tells his family, Inni aanastu Naara – meaning I have seen a fire
Facts about Jinn
- Jinn were created before the Ins – human beings.
- Allah says: We created man from clay, mud molded into stages. And the Jinn race we have created before.
- Jinn are from every religion. Just like Humans.
- The existence of Jinn is proven by the Quran, Sunnah, and Ijmaa’ of the scholars and Muslim Ummah.
- Jinn are more afraid of us than we are of them.
- They are just like Human beings. They have their own lives, they get married, and produce children.
- They eat and drink just like us.
- They like the color black.
- They like houses that have pictures of people or sculptures
Jinn can dwell in human bodies.
- A Woman came to the Prophet with her baby and said that the baby was possessed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in the baby’s ear: Come out oh enemy of Allah! For I am the Prophet of Allah!
Dwellings of Jinn:
- Ruins
- Filthy places
- Toilets
- Garbage Dumps
- Deserted Places
- Oceans
- Deserts
The pious Muslim Jinn like to dwell in the houses of Muslim human beings and in the Masaajid.
We can never see Jinn in their regular form. We can only see them if they take the form of something else like (but not limited to):
- Humans
- Cats
- Dogs
- Scorpions
- Snakes
Types/Jobs/Roles of some Shayateen/Jinn:
- Khanzab/Khazrab: whispers to you during Salah
- The one that causes divorces
- The one who triggers fights in markets
- The one who beautifies lies to people
- The one who whispers at times of calamities
- The one who makes people fall into adultury
Black Magic:
- Black Magic is a contract between a witch-crafter and a Jinni
- The punishment for a magician in this life is death
Signs of Black Magic:
- Husband and wife suddenly hate each other – for no apparent reason
- The person’s spouse smells bad to them
- Sudden hatred or irritation – for no apparent reason
Signs of Possession
- Person likes to stay alone
- Person gets mad and upset for no reason
- Frequent nightmares
- Person dreams that he/she is falling off a cliff
Reasons for epilepsy (times/reasons when a Jinni can posses a person):
- Jinn falls in love with a human
- A human oppresses a Jinni – with or without knowing it
- Under extreme anger (of the person)
- Under extreme fear
- Whilst indulging in prohibited acts
Signs of Epilepsy:
- Lack of sleep
- Occurring nightmares
- Excess awakening at night
- Seeing animals in Dreams
- Excess sleepwalking
- Falling off cliff in dream
- Screaming while asleep
- Seeing oneself in graveyard
How to test for witchcraft:
- Take your right palm and read Surah Ibrahim verses 42-52, then Surah Mu’minoon verses 97-118, the Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas. Then place your palm on your forehead. If you see complete darkness, or you feel dizziness or other similar signs this could mean that there is some kind of magic going on.
